The Spirit of Harmony Chorus took home first place overall in April, 2022 and first place medals in the Division A Competition (30 members or fewer) at their Regional Convention held via Video submission. This contest win allows Spirit of Harmony Chorus to compete in Louisville, KY in October 2023, representing Region 6 of Sweet Adelines International. Choruses from all of Minnesota, parts of South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin and two provinces in Canada compete in four categories - sound, music, expression and showmanship. The chorus also received second place medals in the overall competition, scoring our highest points ever. The score placed us in the top five small choruses in the world which garnered us an invitation, which we accepted, to compete in the Harmony Classic at the Sweet Adelines International Convention in Phoenix in September 2022. This award-winning group is a member of Northern Lights Region 6 of Sweet Adelines International. Members come from Arnolds Park, Emmetsburg, Estherville, Lake Park, Milford, Spirit Lake, Spencer, Battle Creek, Wallingford, and Lakefield and Marshall, MN to sing a cappella, four-part harmony. We meet Monday nights at 7 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church south of Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Women who love to sing and perform are invited to attend a rehearsal and join in the fun and learning!
